The South is reeling from tornadoes that have killed at least 8

Tornados have ripped through the US South over the weekend, killing at least eight people, including three children, Associated Press reported.

Two children, ages 8 and 3, were killed in East Texas on Saturday after a pine tree fell onto their car, AP said. Several other deaths and dozens of injuries were reported in parts of Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama.

At least 18 tornadoes have been reported over the weekend across the US South, from Texas to Georgia. Storms are scheduled to move up along the East Coast, impacting over 100 million people. Reuters also reported almost 6,000 flights have been cancelled or delayed, with Chicago and Charlotte being the airports most impacted.
